Edmonton Fire Rescue ensures the safety of Edmontonians through fire suppression, medical response, hazardous material response, public safety and investigations, fire prevention and education, environmental emergency response, training and dispatch.

The typical Edmonton household contributes $18.66 per month to Edmonton Fire Rescue operations through property taxes.

FACT: In 2016, EFRS responded to 49,403 emergency events. 32,648 were medical events and 3,204 were fire suppression events. Other categories include alarms (6,963), service requests (2,319), dangerous goods (2,170) and rescues (2,099).
